1. Public Prosecutor
No of posts: 26 posts
Pay: Rs. 65000-112000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 18500 + 30% Special Allowance of Basic Pay and other allowances as admissible.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University of India (established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or State Act) or an Institute recognized by the Government of Assam or by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Service Qualification: Having practiced as an Advocate including in the High Court for not less than 8 years, basically on the criminal side.

2. Additional Public Prosecutor
No of posts: 88 posts
Pay: Rs. 30,000 - 1,10,000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 17500 + 30% Special Allowance of Basic Pay and other allowances as admissible
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University of India (established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or State Act) or an Institute recognized by the Government of Assam or by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Service Qualification: Having practiced as an Advocate including in the High Court for not less than 7 (seven) years, basically on the criminal side.
3. Assistant Public Prosecutor
No of posts: 185 posts
Pay: Rs. 30,000 - 1,10,000 + Grade Pay of Rs. 16900 + 30% Special Allowance of Basic Pay and other allowances as admissible
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University of India (established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or State Act) or an Institute recognized by the Government of Assam or by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Service Qualification: Having practiced as an Advocate including in the High Court for not less than 3 (three) years, basically on the criminal side.
Other Criteria of Home & Political Department Recruitment 2024
Citizenship: The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.
Age Limit: The candidates should not be more than 45 years of age as of 01/01/2024.
Age Relaxation: Category-wise upper age limit relaxations are as mentioned below.

The intending applicant is required to submit typed applications in the Format to be uploaded on the Home and Political Department website along with all necessary documents to the Secretary to the Government of Assam, Home & Political Department. Room No. 226, Block-C, 2nd Floor, Janata Bhawan, Dispur, Guwahati- 6, by Speed Pootl Registered Pootl by Hand between 11:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. on all working days, clearly mentioning on the envelope, the post applied for and such application, complete in all aspects. Should reach the office of the undersigned on or before 30.01.2024. Application received after that date cannot be opened and Ghall not be considered.
