Flood and River Erosion Management Agency of Assam (FREMAA) has invited applications from eligible and intending candidates to recruit 07 Social Development Officer & Field Supervisor Posts for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) aided project “Climate Resilient Brahmaputra Integrated Flood and Riverbank Erosion Risk Management Program (CRBIFRERMP)” and the World Bank aided “Assam Integrated River Basin Management Program (AIRBMP)”.
FREMAA Recruitment 2024:
1. Social Development Officer
No. of posts: 1
Educational Qualification: Masters/Post Graduate degree in Social Sciences relevant discipline e.g. social work / Sociology/Anthropology.
Salary: Rs 60,000/- to Rs 70,000/- per month (inclusive of local taxes) and will be fixed during negotiations. TA/DA admissible as per rules of FREMAA for PIUs.
Experience: Candidate must have /possess
- Minimum 7-8 years’ experience in the field of social development including SIA, Land Acquisition, Resettlement, undertaking stakeholder consultation, conducting/facilitating socio-economic surveys, undertaking social impact assessments and preparation of Resettlement Action Plans, Indigenous Peoples Development Plans in accordance with ADB’s requirements. Experience of working in Externally Aided projects involving construction of infrastructure (roads, water resources, power/energy), would be given preference.
- Knowledge of legal/regulatory requirements of GoI and GoA on land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation and existing government welfare /rehabilitation schemes.
- Experience of working in Externally Aided projects like ADB, World Bank, JICA, etc. funded projects/World Bank, NGOs and other development agencies;
- Proficiency in use of Computers to manage data base and generation of reports, is mandatory.
- Knowledge of verbal and written communication in English, Assamese and Hindi is required.
Age Limit: The applicant must be physically fit for extensive touring with age of less than 62 years.
To be Placed in: EAP wing, Water Resources Department.
Selection Mood: Selection will be done through the process of interview.
2. Social Development Officer
No. of posts: 6
Educational Qualification:
Post Graduate Degree in Social Sciences with 55% marks from a recognized University or Institution. Post Graduate Degree in Sociology, Social Work, Developmental Studies and Public Administration will be given preference. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is desirable.
Salary: Rs 36,000/- per month (inclusive of local taxes). TA/DA and other allowances admissible as per FREMAA norms
Experience: At least 3 years of field experience especially in conducting census surveys, coordinating training and public meetings with District Administration and other Govt. offices would be preferred. Knowledge of the Land Acquisition procedures of the Govt. is desirable. Should be skilled in writing reports in English/Assamese and should be fluent in the Assamese language.
Age Limit: The minimum age limit shall be not less than 25 years and the Maximum age limit is 45 years as on the 1st day of the advertisement year.
To be placed in: To be placed under different Water Resources Divisions across the State of Assam.
Selection Mood: Selection will be done through the process of interview.

The candidates shall have to bring all the original certificates/documents along with a set of self-attested copies of the same, for the interview, if shortlisted and called for interview. The Originals will be returned after corroboration with the self-attested copies to be brought by the candidates.
