Tocklai Tea Research Institute has recently announced an employment notification for the recruitment of 02 Research Fellows vacancies under two different National Tea Research Foundation (NTRF) sponsored projects. Selected candidates will also be able to register for a higher degree (subject to attainment of the required qualifications).

No. of posts: 2 ( 1 in each project)
Name of projects:
- Tea Genome Sequencing Project – Phase III
- Exploiting the alternate cost-effective potash sources for sustainable tea production in Northeast India
Essential Qualification:
Project 1:
- M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Life Sciences
Project 2:
- M.Sc. in Soil Science/Chemistry/Life Sciences
- Desirable Qualifications and Experience: Research experience in relevant field.
Monthly Emoluments:
- Project 1: Rs.20,000 + 8% HRA p.m.
- Project 2: Rs.20,000/- + 8% HRA p.m. for 1st and 2nd year and Rs.22,000/- + 8% HRA p.m. for 3rd year
Job Responsibilities:
Project 1: Project-related Research works. The candidate will also have the responsibility of fieldwork, phenotyping, and molecular and biochemical experiments.
Project 2: For lab and field works, Soil sample collection from tea gardens, lab analysis, data collection and compilation, report preparation, etc. altogether
