1. Name of post: Scientific Officer for Directorate of Forensic Science, Guwahati, Assam
No of Posts: 03
Pay Scale / Salary: Rs. 30,000/- to Rs.1,10,000/-GP: Rs. 12,700/- Pay Band – 4
Educational Qualification:
- Drugs & Narcotics Division: M.Sc. in Chemistry or M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in the subject concerned.
- Toxicology Division: M.Sc. in Chemistry or M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in the subject concerned.
- Biology Division: M.Sc. in Botany or M.Sc. in Zoology or M.Sc. in Anthropology (Physical) or M.Sc. in Biotechnology or M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in the concerned subject.
Age Limit: The candidates should not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 38 years of age as of 01-01-2025.
2. Name of post: Scientific Officer for Regional Forensic Science Laboratories at Silchar, Tezpur, Bongaigaon, Dibrugarh, and Jorhat respectively under the Directorate of Forensic Science, Assam

Educational Qualification:
- Biology Division: M.Sc. in Botany or M.Sc. in Zoology or M.Sc. in Anthropology (Physical) M.Sc. in Biotechnology or M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in the concerned subject.
- Instrumentation Division: M.Sc. in Physics with Electronics or M.Sc. in Electronics or M.Sc. in Instrumentation or M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in concerned subject.
- Drugs and Narcotics Division: M.Sc. in Chemistry or M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in the subject concerned.
Age Limit: The candidates should not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 38 years of age as of 01-01-2025.
Other Eligibility Criteria
Citizenship: The candidate must be an Indian Citizen as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and must be a Permanent Resident of Assam.
Domicile: As a domicile proof of the candidate, he/ she uploads a copy of the valid Permanent Resident Certificate issued in Assam for educational purposes/The Employment Exchange Registration Certificate will be treated as proof of residency.
Small Family Norms: The candidates have to submit a declaration regarding “The Small Family Norms” in Form-A at the time of applying for the post.
Age Relaxation:
