Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has recently invited applications from eligible and intending candidates for the recruitment of 150 vacancies against the Indian Forest Service Exam 2025 through the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2025.

UPSC Indian Forest Service Examination Scheme: The Indian Forest Service Examination will consist of two successive stages : (i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination; and (ii) Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service.
Age Limit for UPSC Forest Service Exam 2025:
Age Limit: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on the 1st of August, 2025 i.e., the candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1993 and not later than 1st August, 2004.
Age Relaxation: Category-wise age relaxation is as mentioned below.
- SC/ ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years.
Educational Qualification for the Indian Forest Service Exam:
A candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree in at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or Engineering of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.
Application Fee: The category-wise application fee is as follows.
- SC/ST/Women/PwBD: Nil
- Other: Rs. 100/-
How to Apply ?
Candidates are required to apply Online only by using this link - https://upsconline.gov.in/upsc/OTRP/index.php . It is essential for the applicant to register himself/herself first at the One Time Registration (OTR) platform, available on the Commission’s website, and then proceed to fill up the online application for the examination. OTR Profile (Registration) has to be registered only once in a lifetime. This can be done anytime throughout the year. If the candidate is already registered, he/she can proceed straightway to filling up the online application for the examination.
